The managers of Mare Nostrum Cup, based in Salou, Spain, signed an agreement with the Asian Company China Sports Futurity Investment (CSFI) to launch the MCC until 2027. The first edition is taking place in Kunming from August 18th to 25th.

The tournament will have two competitions: U14 boys and U13 girls, including a qualification round with over 900 Chinese teams to earn a spot in Kunming. Finally there are 16 teams in BU14, 12 from China and 4 Europeans: RCD Espanyol and Valencia CF (Spain), KAA Gent (Belgium) and Brondby IF (Denmark). In the Gu13 competition there are 8 aspiring teams to lift the trophy: 6 Chinese and two from Europe: Espanyol and Turbine Potsdam (Germany).
